A certified copy of a birth certificate is $20 for the first copy and $13 for each additional copy of the same record ordered at the same time.
Larimer County can only issue certified Colorado birth certificates. We cannot issue birth certificates from other states or countries. Please contact the State Vital Records Office in which the birth occurred or the county for further guidance on processes and fees.
Larimer county cannot make any changes/corrections to Colorado birth certificates. All changes/corrections must be processed through the State of Colorado Vital Records office at 303-692-2200 (cdphe.colorado.gov).
In order to obtain the certified Colorado birth certificate you must apply at a vital records office. The hospitals only register a child’s birth.
There is a fee each time someone receives a birth certificate.
Larimer County also accepts vouchers as payment from House of Neighborly Services, Catholic Charities, and Human Services departments, including other counties in Colorado.
Larimer County can issue certified birth certificates for all births that occurred in Colorado. You do not have to obtain the birth certificate from the county the birth occurred in.
Our Fort Collins location is the only vital records office in Larimer and Jackson County. Our offices in Loveland and Estes Park do not offer vital record services.
